Pequonnock River Conservancy

A community group in Bridgeport, CT created to assist in the clean-up and restoration of the urban river. The Pequonnock River has a varied transit through Connecticut from undisturbed woodlands to the industrial and urbanized coastal Bridgeport. The river exits at Long Island Sound. In Feburary 2010, a lone seal was observed sunning on an industrial drainage pipe in the inland section of the river which was the impetus to establish the "Pequonnock River Conservancy".

Pequonnock River Watershed Meeting

A public meeting to discuss the future plan for the Pequonnock River Watershed in Connecticut has been scheduled by the group: "Save the Sound". The meeting date is August 24, 2010. The location is the Bridgeport, CT zoo. For further information contact Ron Merly at Save the Sound:
